Goldenrod may be better known in its powdered herb form, but goldenrod essential oil is very useful for thinning mucus secretions, cleansing the bladder and kidneys and promoting urination. Drinking its tea can also provide these benefits.

It's a great tea or or essential oil to have around to prevent colds and flu during winter months. It can help clear chest congestion brought on by bronchitis or flu and it is a good internal cleanser for infections, especially of the bladder and urinary tract.

Uses: Diffuse or apply topically; add a drop to food
or liquid; use as a compress for wounds, headaches or
rheumatism; mix with water as a gargle for sore throat and
laryngitis
