Melissa Essential Oil

Melissa essential oil has been used since early times for nervous disorders, heart ailments, and to promote fertility. Melissa oil is a main ingredient in Carmelite water, which has been made in France since the 1600's by monks of the Carmelite order.

Melissa (Melissa officinalis)

Botanical Family: Lamiaceae or Labiatae

Extraction: Steam distilled from leaves and flowers

Properties: Antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory; hypotensive, calming, sedative; use for allergies, anxiety, bronchitis, coughs, respiratory infections, indigestion, depression, fevers, hypertension, menstrual problems, migraine, nervous tension, palpitations

Uses: Diffuse or apply topically

Fragrant Influence: Brings out gentleness in people; calming and uplifting; helps remove emotional blocks and balance the emotions
